This podcast is all about health, wellness, beauty, mental health, and a little bit on love and business. I, Katey Brigham (@TheVioletFog) have been a writer and reporter for over a decade, and everything you hear is from my own framework. I aim to inspire and motivate people to learn about their own health and bio-individuality as I learn about mine. And like me, your path to healing it‘s going to be very unique. There is no one size fits all approach to help; at least there really shouldn‘t be. So how do you get there? How do you get on your own healing path? We explore that. This is not medical advice. It‘s simply what has worked for me. Expect stories, research, and how I draw conclusions. Take what works for you, leave what doesn‘t, but find out what it means to really be an empowered consumer and patient. Oh, and we keep it under 30 minutes because time is precious. Happier here!

EP. 5: My Money Story
Tuesday Aug 10, 2021
Tuesday Aug 10, 2021
In this episode, Katey talks about money. Her opinion is that women have been excluded from the money conversation for a really long time and she addresses it from her point of view. So I think that we should change that. I also want to make it known that the way that I talk about money, it is not lost on me that it is a privilege, it is a privilege, the way that I am able to talk about money and my money story, I denounce white supremacy, I very much realized that privilege exists and that I'm sure I have benefited from it. And that makes me sick. And you know, we can't do everything, but we can do some things. And I think just recognizing that is super important. So I just, you know, want to make it known that I do recognize my privilege, and I hope that things change. Okay, second, I mentioned a tech firm in there. And I say that how In this episode I mentioned and I say how tech firms can be a bit stuffy. And that's true, not all of them. But there's another part where I say that I didn't feel like I fit it with my peers. And I don't want it to seem like my peers were stuffy because they were freaking awesome. I loved them so much. It was just that I thought that they were way above me in like deserving to be there. That's all that I meant by that. I also bring up other bloggers and influencers and the way that they do business, and I realized I can't group everyone together. But I still do stand firm by what I said. And I do think that sometimes quality work can be pushed down in exchange for money. And I just I don't think that's right. And I think that I want to uphold this industry, you know, I want it to I want the bar to be really high because I think that it should be but I love and respect my peers. And I also mentioned how like sometimes willing to simpleton facts are shared, maybe I should have used a different word than that. But I just meant the basics, but at the same time, sometimes people just want the basics, you know, so maybe I should just shut up. So anyways, I just want to say that. And then I do mention brands that I work with. And I don't want you thinking that it applies to brands that I am in deals with.
